HPV Vaccine

HPV Vaccine is now available at Student Health for men and women

Gardasil® (manufactured by Merck & Co.) is the first vaccine developed to prevent cervical cancer and other diseases caused by certain types of genital human papillomavirus (HPV). The vaccine protects against four HPV viruses, which together cause 70% of cervical cancers and five types of viruses that cause â€‹90% of genital warts. The FDA has now approved Gardasil for males and females 9-27 years of age for the prevention of anal cancer, anal dysplasias and precancerous lesions caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). The vaccine is given through a series of three shots over a six-month period (0, 2 and 6 months).

No appointment is needed, simply check in at the Nurse's Clinic (see link for hours).

NOTE:
UC SHIP provides coverage for the HPV vaccine when administered at Student Health for all students who started the HPV series prior to turning age 27. See the Cost of Services page for pricing. Because the vaccine has been FDA approved only through age 26, patients over age 26 requesting the HPV vaccine must have an order by their SHS provider.
