CARRS & High Stakes Seminars

CARRS SEMINARS

CARRS (Campus Alcohol Risk Reduction Seminar) is a 90-minute group session facilitated by Health Educators from Health Promotion Services . To fulfill your CARRS requirement, you must register and attend one of the seminars listed below.

Fees

Upon attendance, your student account will be charged the seminar fee of $55​.00. If you register and fail to attend, a "no show" fee of $10.00 will be charged to your student account.

How to Register​

To attend a seminar, choose one of the dates below and e-mail the following information to pgrillo@ucsd.edu.: your name, PID #, College, who referred you, date you will attend. You will receive a confirming e-mail.

Please note: Seminars start on time! If you are late, you will have to re-schedule! If you register and are unable to attend, e-mail to cancel pgrillo@ucsd.edu, or you will be charged the "no show" fee of $10.00.

Directions

Seminars are held in the Student Health Services Conference Room, "Murray's Place", (2nd floor - look for the sign!). Student Health is located on Library Walk, just south of Geisel Library, across from the fountain. Students can access the conference room from the outer stairs on the parking lot (west) side of the building (this applies especially for after hours and Saturdays).

HIGH STAKES SEMINARS

High Stakes is a 60-minute group session focusing on cannabis use.  The format includes an open dialogue of the upsides/downsides to cannabis use, information about Prop 64 implications, and utilizes a gamelike format for discussion of risk reduction strategies.  This seminar is facilitated by a Health Educator from Health Promotion Services. To fulfill your requirement, you must register and attend one of the seminars listed below.
