
Dr. O'Meara received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Southern California. She is an expert on wellness, healthy lifestyles, and reducing stress and anxiety through wellness-oriented techniques. She also runs the wildly popular Building Social Confidence Group, coordinates the Wellness Peer Education Program, the Peer Wellness Coaches, supervises the Stress Management through Biofeedback Workshops. Dr. O’Meara is located at Revelle College.

Dr. Hackshaw received her Ph.D. from the University of Florida in Counseling Psychology. Her specialities include Sports Psychology, Peak Performance, Stress Management, Healtrhy Relationships, chronic pain management and Wellness and holistic care. She consults with the athletic department at UC San Diego. Dr. Hackshaw is located at Eleanor Roosevelt College.
Debbie is the director of Health Education at Student Health Service. She received her Masters in Public Health from SDSU after spending two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa. Before coming to UCSD, she spent 9 years at San Diego Youth and Community Services, a large human service organization, overseeing the agency’s health education and community youth development programs. Debbie has been with Student Health Service at UCSD since July 1997. She has particular interest in the areas of women's health, wellness, youth leadership development, and international health. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family, hiking, kayaking, racquetball, cooking and traveling.
Alexia Cervantes is the Fitness and Mind/Body/Spirit Director for the UC San Diego Recreation Class Program. Alexia started her career as a student working for Recreation as a fitness instructor over 17 years ago. After graduating from UCSD, she continued to pursue fitness as a career and has taught everything from Water Aerobics to Kick Boxing. Along the way Alexia has grown with the burgeoning fitness industry and received certifications from ACE and the Reebok University in Cycle and Core Training. Alexia still pursues continuing education via conferences and workshops around the country to keep the program at UCSD on the cutting edge. Alexia has also presented to workshops, training and lectures to groups ranging from 2 to 200 and loves the interaction with her students. Currently Alexia is teaching her signature Pilates-Yoga Blend and Rhythmic Cycle classes for Recreation. Away from UCSD, she enjoys time with her active husband and two teenage daughters. Her favorite activities include snowboarding, hiking, Capoeira and running. On the quiet side Alexia can't get enough sudoku or reading.
Terri Dowie is the Program Director of the Recreation Wellness Program. Terri Personal Wellness Program for faculty and staff is an eight week program providing individualized fitness programs and small group training with our wellness instructors. Forty participants are accepted each quarter. The program is free of charge,however Rec Card renewal or purchase must be made at or prior to program registration. Gary Anderson is the Director of the Intergroup Relations Program and a member of the Wesley Foundation. The Intergroup Relations Program provides students with programs and services to help build an inclusive campus community, address hate or bias-related incidents, mediate student intergroup conflicts, and develop critical skills for living and working in a diverse global community. Gary also is a Methodist minister.
