According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, healthy eating refers to: consuming a variety of nutrient-dense foods and beverages within and among the basic food groups; choosing foods that limit the intake of saturated and trans fats, cholesterol, and added sugars and salt; and meeting recommended intakes within energy needs by adopting a balanced eating pattern of nutrient-dense foods. Nutrient-dense foods are those that provide substantial amounts of vitamins and minerals (micronutrients) and are not high in calories.

The meetings are free to registered students and are held every Thursday from 3-4 p.m. in the Student Health Administrative Conference Room (142, first floor). Nutrition Counseling All students are eligible to have one-on-one meetings with one of our dietitians for diet and nutrition counseling. This is an eight week program which meets once a week for an hour. The program will include small group instructional workouts and nutritional guidelines for weight loss. The program fees are $45 for students $60 for fac/staff with rec card $90 for community with rec card $120 community without rec card.
