Sleep: A through Zzzzzz - April 30th (limited to 50 people) For optimum physiological, mental and emotional performance, we NEED our sleep. When we fail to meet this need regularly (7-9 hours), we accumulate a running sleep debt, which is very costly to our overall well-being. By developing good sleep hygiene (i.e. a consistent wake-sleep cycle, regular physical activity, and healthy bedtime habits), you can improve and enjoy this most basic, necessary and pleasurable of activities. Hot chocolate, tea and graham crackers will be served. Wear you pajamas! Led by Rhonda Hackshaw, PhD of Psychological and Counseling Services in her PJ’s. |
WEEK 6 |
M B S
|
Labyrinth Walk – May 7th (limited to 50 people) Walking the labyrinth is an ancient meditative practice that takes us to the center of our being and then out again. The labyrinth is like a maze. Unlike a maze, however, it offers one path which always leads to the center. The labyrinth is a tool to guide healing, deepen self knowledge, and empower creativity. Walking the labyrinth clears the mind and gives insight to the spiritual journey. It urges action. It calms people in the throes of life transitions. It helps them see their lives in the context of a path, a pilgrimage. To those who feel they have untapped gifts, it stirs the creative fires within. To those who are in deep sorrow, the walk gives solace and peace. Led by Alice King, of the Center for Ethics and Spirituality. |
